SOS from Lerounis
Συντάχθηκε απο τον/την Μπάμπης Παπαδάκης
In a series of letters, kidnapped Greek volunteer Thanassios Lerounis has appealed to the Pakistani government to arrange his release and safe return to Greece. The Greek volunteer was working with the Kalash tribe near the Pakistani border, when he was abducted by masked Taliban on September 8, during an attack on his home in a local village.
In a note he points out that his life is in danger unless Pakistani authorities accept the terms set by his abductors for his release - a ransom of 20,000 dollars, as well as the release of three Taliban leaders held in Pakistan.
According to a local newspaper, a delegation of Muslim leaders has twice visited the region where Lerounis is being held hostage, in order to negotiate his release but the attempts have proved fruitless so far.
