An upheaval of representatives of the Greek Diaspora of America and Canada was caused by the decision made by Marfin Investment Group (MIG) to reduce the number of itineraries of Olympic Airways, regarding destinations such as New York, Toronto, Montreal and Johannesburg.
The Council for Hellens Abraod USA, SAE has called for a contribution towards the restoration of the natural environment in areas which have been affected by the fires in Greece in a new “Plant Your Roots in Greece” campaign.

More than 200 Cypriots of the Diaspora, from all continents, are taking part in the 16th Worldwide Conference of Overseas Cypriots (PSEKA – POMAK) which commenced tonight at Nicosia.
During the proceedings of the 16th Worldwide Conference of Overseas Cypriots, Deputy Foreign Minister, Theodoros Kassimis, emphasized on the strong will of the Greek State and the Greek prime minister, Mr. Karamanlis, on his message which was addressed to members of the General Secretariat of Greeks Abroad (GSGA) by Mr. Ioannis Kyparissidis.
