Start of dialogue for expatriate Greek education
Συντάχθηκε απο τον/την Μπάμπης Παπαδάκης
The President of the Greek American Teachers Federation Stella Kokoli has announced the start of an open and candid dialogue with expatriate Greek organisations for the future of the Greek language and education in the United States. She was speaking to “Greek News”, after the first general assembly of the organisation, held last Saturday at the archdiocese’ cultural centre in Astoria, New York.
“It is time to listen to the expatriate Greeks bodies”, she said, “to hear their views and their proposals for the future of Greek language and education in the United States”. She noted that the main questions were: “Do we want Greek language and culture? Do we need the promotion of Greek language and culture, and how? Is the current situation good enough?”
