Greek-American Heritage Commission in US state
Συντάχθηκε απο τον/την Μπάμπης Παπαδάκης
New Jersey has made history by becoming the first state in the United States that has a special commission on Greek issues. NJ Governor Jon Corzine signed the executive order creating the Hellenic-American Heritage Commission, in the presence of more than 350 prominent Greek Americans of the Garden State, during a ceremony in Princeton.
The 24-member commission will be headed by Zenon Christodoulou, a member of the Coordinated Effort of Hellenes and son of the late Christopher Christodoulou, former President of the Cyprus Federation of America.
Governor Corzine said that he expects the commission to be meaningful and work not only to build economic ties between New Jersey and Greece and Cyprus, but also to ensure that through the educational curricula, the children of New Jersey understand Hellenic culture.
