The Council for Hellenes Abroad (CHA) has undertaken an initiative to insert full-page announcements in the international press relating to the issue of Greece’s name dispute with the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, thus supporting Athens’ stance in view of the crucial NATO summit in Bucharest.
The announcement, which has been published in all major newspapers of
NATO member states – such as the “Washington Post”, the “New York
Times”, the London “Times” and the French “Le Monde” – informs Greece’s
allies on the main aspects of the bilateral dispute, calling on them to
contribute to efforts to find a mutually acceptable solution. The CHA believes that the stance taken by NATO members at this critical time will determine the future stability and security of the Balkan region, and underlines that Greeks all over the world back the Greek positions.
