In Stockholm last weekend, representatives of the federations of Greek communities from Germany, Sweden, Belgium, Italy, Austria, France, Denmark and Budapest took an important step towards coordinating their activities and upgrading the role of their communities on a Europe-wide level, by deciding to set up a Coordinating Council and an Executive Secretariat to draft uniform strategies for expatriate Greeks living in Europe.
This decision, they said, was dictated by the general needs and conditions that have emerged within the framework of efforts by the federations to create their own collective political proposal to tackle and promote everyday, as well as major, strategic issues concerning Diaspora Greeks in Europe.
