Dozens of Greek families who live in Wittenden, Germany, "froze" when they heard the tragic news last week about the deadly attack on the school their children attend.

The President of the Council for Hellenes Abroad (CHA), Stefanos Tamvakis, had consecutive meetings with the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Vassilis Papageorgopoulos and the Minister for Macedonia-Thrace, Stavros Kalafatis, on Monday.

Another significant distinction was awarded to a Greek woman in Vienna. Greek associate professor at the Vienna University of Technology Vassiliki-Maria Archondoulaki received the Austrian international award "MiA"
