The Council for Hellens Abraod USA, SAE has called for a contribution towards the restoration of the natural environment in areas which have been affected by the fires in Greece in a new “Plant Your Roots in Greece” campaign. The recent fires in the area of Attica and many other areas of Greece, call for awareness and immediate response by Hellenes, in order to help remedy the situation and respond to the needs which are created by this tremendous natural disaster.

The president and SAE coordinator of the “The Plant Your Roots in Greece” foundation, which under the aegis of the Council for Hellenes Abroad (SAE), Theodoros Spyropoulos, noted that the foundation has started a new campaign to raise funds to “repair” the natural environment which was destroyed by the Attica wildfires in need of technical reforestation.  The organization issued a call for to all local authorities in Attica and the greater region to be informed about the related needs for tre-planting and reforestation in order to adequately prepare for the new planting season in October-November until March. The tree-planting/reforestation of the “Plant Your Roots in Greece” foundation takes place in cooperation with local administration authorities of Greece.
