“Cyprus top priority for Greece”

During the proceedings of the 16th Worldwide Conference of Overseas Cypriots, Deputy Foreign Minister, Theodoros Kassimis, emphasized on the strong will of the Greek State and the Greek prime minister, Mr. Karamanlis, on his message which was addressed to members of the General Secretariat of Greeks Abroad (GSGA) by Mr. Ioannis Kyparissidis. Among others, the message stressed that the Cyrpus issue remains Greece’s top foreign policy priority, noting that the continued coordination of both governments comprise the guarantee of the two governments policy affectivity and a decisive factor is providing a full and comprehensive solution to the Cyprus dispute. The memorandum of cooperation between GSGA and the Department of Overseas Cypriots at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus is set within the framework of close cooperation between the Greek and Cypriot government and it establishes close cooperation and a common course of action for Oversea Cypriot organizations and Greeks Abroad.
