In a cordial and emotional atmosphere, Greece last Thursday honoured Carolyn Maloney, a member of the American Congress, who co-founded and co-chairs the Hellenic caucus, defining Greek and Cypriot positions on crucial issues.
The Greek ambassador in Washington, Alexandros Mallias, hosted a dinner in her honour at his residence, which was also attended by the Cypriot ambassador, Andreas Kakouris, prominent Greek-American and State Department officials, as well as the media. In his toast, Mallias referred to Maloney's personality and contribution, thanking her for her ongoing support. He also presented her with a book by Thucydides on the Peloponnesian War.
