Culture Minister Mihalis Liapis attended the opening of the photography exhibit “Greeks in Hungary” that took place in Technopolis, Gazi. The exhibit organized by the Hungarian Embassy will run until Septmeber 17 and aims to shed light on the everyday lives of the Greeks of Hungary, from the 18th century to the present. It should be noted that from the 17th century, the Greeks in Hungary founded 30 communities and built churches and schools. Their presence in the trade sector in particular played an important role in the country’s financial development thus contributing to its development.
