Bakoyannis-Clinton meeting on February 25

Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis, who this year is also the chairperson of the Organization of Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), is scheduled to meet with new US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at the American State Department in Washington on February 25. Greek Foreign ministry spokesman George Koumoutsakos said Bakoyannis will visit Washington in both her capacity as the foreign minister of Greece and the OSCE chairperson. 


In a separate development, US Senator Richard Durbin of Illinois will visit Athens next Wednesday for talks with Bakoyannis, accompanied by Illinois State Treasurer Alexis Giannoulias. Topics for discussion include the Cyprus issue, the situation in the Balkans, Greece's OSCE chairmanship and international affairs. The American officials will also visit Nicosia, Ankara and Constantinople.
