A message of joy and offerings to all humankind were sent by the students of St. Basil's Academy during the school's annual holiday event in Garrison New York. The event was attended by the Archbishop of America, Demetrios, the Consul General of Cyprus, Andreas Panayiotou, and the Education Coordinator of the Greek Consulate in NY, Giorgos Vlikidis.
In his New Year Encyclical, Archbishop of America Demetrios called upon all Greek Orthodox Christians living in the U.S. to honor St. Basil within their communities. Archbishop Demetrios also asked for the community's support for the Academy of St. Basil founded 50 years ago in Garrison, N.Y.
