The special committee of the Holy Greek Archdiocese Fire Relief Fund will convene in January to decide the manner in which the sum of 3.8 million dollars, collected in donations in the US, will be allocated to the victims of the summer's devastating wildfires in Greece.
Some of the proposals that will be under discussion include: offering assistance to the children of firefighters and civilians who lost their lives during the fires and to children and young adults who live in the afflicted areas. In addition, also to be discussed will be the offering of scholarships to individuals from various areas of Greece in order for them to specialize in fire fighting techniques in specials schools in the United States, and the offering of necessary fire fighting equipment.
