In terms of the Greek-American community, we cannot say that 2007 was marked by spectacular events. However, in relation to what happened last year, we can draw three main conclusions.
Firstly, for the first time in the last 20 years, there was substantive progress in the American Archbishopric's cooperation with Greece and Cyprus, as well as with foundations of the two countries for the promotion of the issue of Hellenic education for Greek-American children in the United States. Secondly, there were very positive contacts in Athens between the Archbishopric's head of the Education sector and the Greek Education Ministry. And, thirdly, we can note an upgrading in collaboration between the American Archbishopric and Cyprus, with the first training seminars for Greek-American teachers in Cyprus, which will be repeated in 2008.
