Συντάχθηκε απο τον/την Θεόφιλος Δουμάνης

The Greek Language Center opened its doors to the public in Thessaloniki yesterday at the SAE (Council for Hellenes Abroad) offices following an initiative of the council. The center aims to teach the Greek language to Greeks abroad as well as to foreigners in Greece. The 3-month pilot program is the first to be carried out by the SAE's non-profit association "DESMOS" with secured funding by the General Secretariat of Youth.

Instruction takes place via the web site www.greek-learning.gr. The program "Speak Greek-Live Greek" is an initiative of SAE that was supported and co-funded by the Alexander Onassis Public Benefit Foundation. Beyond the instruction of the Greek language, the program aims to teach basic usage of computers.

The program includes courses for beginners and advanced speakers of the Greek language and also for non-speakers. Through the web site, users will be able to get information about Greek history, culture, tourism, and general information that will be useful for them during their stay in Greece. All information is simultaneously available in Greek, English, Russian and Spanish.
