On December 26, the Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, Theodore II, welcomed the president and members of the administrative board of the Hellenic Community of Cairo to his offices, in order to convey their best wishes for the festive season and to receive his blessing. Later the Patriarch visited the St. George Monastery in Cairo, where major works are now underway to restore this important religious monument. Theodoros II then attended an event organized by the young people of the Orthodox Patriarchate’s Cultural Centre and donated a large sum in aid of the poor children in the region.
