Church of Greece’s treasures on the Internet
Συντάχθηκε απο τον/την Μπάμπης Παπαδάκης
The non-profit ecclesiastical organisation, "Solidarity", recently inaugurated a digital museum, in which virtually all the cultural wealth of the Church of Greece is hosted. The collection comprises 25,000 exhibits and documents, and can be accessed at: http://art.solidarity.gr.
Churches, monasteries, rare photographs, manuscripts, sacred artefacts, and audio archives of Byzantine hymns, are all part of the priceless ecclesiastical treasures which can now be "visited" by Internet users.  There are also a number of interesting "surprises", including an astrological map found at the Redina Monastery in Agrafa next to icons, and a chapel, which - since 1965 - has been at the bottom of the Kremaston artificial lake.
