CHA calls for committee on expatriate Greek vote

The President of the Council for Hellenes Abroad (CHA), Stefanos Tamvakis has sent a letter to Greek parliamentary parties calling for the immediate setting up of a committee to deal with the vote for expatriate Greeks. According to Tamvakis, the committee will comprise representatives from the Foreign Ministry, the Interior ministry, parliament's Standing Committee for Hellenes Abroad, parliamentary parties and the CHA, so that it may draft a commonly acceptable bill providing for expatriate Greeks to exercise their voting rights in Greek national elections, from their countries of residence. 
 In the letter, which was sent in view of the parliamentary debate on a bill tabled by the government, Tamvakis notes that all members of the CHA presidium is that efforts continue on all levels. So that a mutually acceptable solution can be found through dialogue.
