Vladimir Kaisev was elected prime minister in the Republic of Karachaevo-Cherkessia in the Russian Federation in the Caucasus. The 54-year-old ethnic Greek was proposed by the new president of the Republic, Boris Ebzeyev.

The sessions of the 7th World Lingual Congress, which took place in Messolonghi, Greece, wound up successfully yesterday. Fifty speakers from 20 countries participated in the event, during which many interesting announcements were made concerning the status of Greek language teaching in over 20 countries worldwide. Among these "revelations" were announcements regarding Korea and Thailand.
