Parliament honours Demetrios Giannaros

The Greek Parliament, through its speaker, Dimitris Sioufas, presented an award to the outgoing chairman of the World Inter-Parliamentary Union of Hellenism (PADEE), Demetrios Giannaros, for his eight-year contribution to the Union.

Awards for expatriate Greeks

The executive board of the Parliament Foundation for Parliamentarianism and Democracy recently decided to awards prizes to individuals and organisations, whose activities have honoured Greece abroad.
Speaking at the 7th General Assembly of the World Inter-Parliamentary Union of Hellenism (PADEE), Parliamentary Speaker Dimitris Sioufas revealed that he had proposed to the Education minister to extend the Open University also to expatriate Greeks.
