The amount of 81,128.18 euros – to assist the victims of wildfires in the Peloponnese last August - was raised by an appeal organized by AHEPA Australia, in cooperation with the Greek program of SBS Radio. The money has already been sent to Greece and the president of the Special Fund for Emergencies, Petros Molyviatis, has sent a letter expressing his gratitude, on behalf of the Fund, to the national president of AHEPA. He noted that the Fund’s aim was not only to restore the damaged property, but to create something better than what was destroyed. He also gave assurances that the generous donation will be used exclusively for that aim.

It is estimated that appeals conducted in Australia – plus state donations from that country – have raised over $5 million to assist those affected by the wildfires in Greece.
