Distinguished film director Maria Iliou will present her new documentary, "The Journey: The Greek-American Dream", next Sunday, March 9, at Michigan University's Classical Studies Department, at 3pm. The film - which is the result of many years of research among numerous American archives - outlines the story of Greek migration to the United States.
Apart from rare photographs, the film also features interviews with outstanding Greek-Americans, such as Senator Paul Sarbanes, writers Elias Kulukundis and George Pelecanos, poetess Olga Broumas, critic and film historian Dan Georgakas, Ellis Island archives keeper George Tselos, Father Robert Stephanopoulos, professors Martha Klironomos and Artemis Leontis, researcher Gus Chatzidimitriou, and historian and film consultant Alexander Kitroeff.
