| SAE - Annual Report delivered to Parliament |

The World Council of Hellenes Abroad (SAE) 2007 Annual Report was delivered yesterday to Parliament President Dimitris Sioufas by SAE President Stefanos P. Tamvakis. The meeting attended Deputy Foreign Minister Theodoros Kassimis, the parliament’s 1st Vice-President Georgios Sourlas, responsible for Greeks abroad, MP and member of the Special Permanent Committee on Greeks Abroad, Panagiotis Skandalakis, and General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad General Director Yannis Kyparissidis. On behalf of SAE, the meeting attended Secretary Olga Sarantopoulou and legal advisers Theodoros Koutsoubas and Dimitris Papadopoulos. The Annual Report of Activities which has already been delivered to Hellenic Republic President Karolos Papoulias and Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis, constitutes a collective project by the SAE Board and the Coordinating Council members, Tamvakis pointed out, stressing that it includes demands and concerns as well as a recommendation referring to the aims and solutions suggested by the Council. On his part, Parliament President Dimitris Sioufas congratulated SAE President Tamvakis on behalf of all the MPs and the political parties represented in parliament for the important work undertaken by SAE, stressing that since its establishment it has been a “body that gives wings and maintains channels of communication open with Hellenism worldwide”. Sioufas underlined the Parliament’s presiding board pledge to bring the SAE annual report for discussion in the plenary session for a review of the State’s actions and the actions undertaken by the World Council of Hellenes Abroad.
