For the first time after many years, Australians are showing particular interest in studying ancient Greek, not only the language but the history and culture of Greece, according to the dean of the Australian National University in Canberra, Lawrence Cramm.

The President of the Hellenic Republic Karolos Papoulias met with 150 young Greek adult expatriates from South America, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand on Friday at the presidential mansion. The expatriates, aged between 18 and 25, are visiting Greece as guests of the general secretariat for Greeks Abroad, and within the framework of the Greek Language and Culture Program.

Σελίδα 1 από 2 Σόφια Διαγωνισμό δοκιμίου με θέμα «Η Ελλάδα στον κόσμο και στα Βαλκάνια - χθες, σήμερα, αύριο» διοργανώνει η Εστία του Ελληνικού Ιδρύματος Πολιτισμού στη Σόφια.Στόχος του ιδρύματος να παροτρύνει τη δημιουργική φαντασία των νέων ανθρώπων και να διαδώσει την πολιτιστική κληρονομιά και το ρόλο της Ελλάδας στο σύγχρονο κόσμο.Οι μετέχοντες στον διαγωνισμό θα πρέπει να αποστείλουν δοκίμιο μέχρι τρεις (3) σελίδες (5400 σύμβολα) στην βουλγαρική ή ελληνική γλώσσα στην ηλεκτρονική σελίδα της Εστίας

Η Εστία του ΕΙΠ θα απονείμει δύο μεγάλα βραβεία:
- για το καλύτερο δοκίμιο στην ελληνική γλώσσα - συμμετοχή σε θερινό σεμινάριο εκμάθησης της ελληνικής γλώσσας του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών (με κάλυψη και διαμονής κατά τη διάρκειά του) με την υποστήριξη του Ελληνικού Ιδρύματος Πολιτισμού - Αθήνα,
- για το καλύτερο δοκίμιο στην βουλγαρική γλώσσα - συμμετοχή σε ετήσιο πρόγραμμα διδασκαλίας της ελληνικής γλώσσας στην Εστία του ΕΙΠ στην Σόφια, 2010-2011 - καθώς και πολλά τιμητικά βραβεία.
Προθεσμία αποστολής των έργων - από τις 18 Ιανουαρίου μέχρι τις 19 Φεβρουαρίου 2010. Οι νικητές θα ανακοινωθούν και βραβευθούν σε τελετή της Εστίας του ΕΙΠ, η οποία θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 24 Μαρτίου 2010 με αφορμή την Εθνική Εορτή της Ελλάδας.
