Sydney – Downtown Canberra will be dressed in the blue-and-white colours of the Greek flag next Sunday, February 2, with the organisation of the annual “Greek Glenti”. The festive event is one of the largest Australian multicultural festivals and will be held City Walk, in the capital’s centre.

The first “Greek Glenti” was held in 1997 as part of the country’s Multicultural Festival, an initiative by the local capital with the aim of bringing closer people of all social classes and national origins, according to an announcement issued by the organisers. This year’s event was organised by Canberra’s Greek Orthodox Community and Church, and is being sponsored mainly by the Hellenic Club of Canberra, as well as smaller sponsors.
