George Tselos: the soul of Ellis Island – A life full of migrant memories
Σύνταξη/επιμέλεια από τον/την Θεόφιλος Δουμάνης

New York – He moves slowly in corridors seeped in nostalgia and tears. A grey walking stick supports his body. On the walls around him are black and white photographs depicting tales of migrants. Once, this was their last stop prior to the American dream. Their future in America was sealed on Ellis Island.

Today, Greek-American George Tselos is the guardian of their memories. Over a century has passed from when a migrant first set foot on this land. From 1892 to 1954, Ellis Island accepted millions of people from all over the world, including thousands of Greeks. Now, Tselos is the head of the library and archives on Ellis Island, which now functions as a museum.
