World SAE Secretary Dr. Olga Sarantopoulos has sent an open letter to Diaspora Greeks on the occasion of the current economic crisis. In the letter, Sarantopoulos notes the feelings of sadness and outrage among Greeks about the attacks on the homeland and questions what expediencies these attacks may serve.
April 1 will be census day for Americans, as well as for Greek-Americans living in the United States. According to an announcement issued by the Greek Embassy in Washington, within the contest of the census which is held every 10 years, the Census Bureau will send a questionnaire to every American household in the next few days.

Sydney – In an extremely emotional atmosphere, the well known ethnic Greek lawyer from South Africa, George Bizos, was honoured last Sunday. In his speech, Bizos referred to the history of his migration for legal studies, his acquaintance with Nelson Mandela, the struggles for human rights in South Africa and the abolition of Apartheid.
The Australian Chief Minister of the Northern Territory, Paul Henderson, expressed the full support of the government for a decision by SAE Region Oceania to organize the 2011 Panhellenic Cultural and Sports Games in Darwin. Henderson had a meeting in the NT capital city with SAE Coordinator, George Angelopoulos and members of the Executive Committee of the institution at which the organisation of the games was discussed.

Ο Καθηγητής Κώστας Γραμμένος είναι Αντιπρύτανης του Πανεπιστημίου City του Λονδίνου και επικεφαλής του προπτυχιακού τμήματος του Cass Business School του ιδίου Πανεπιστημίου.
Το 1983, ίδρυσε τη Σχολή Ναυτιλίας, Εμπορίου και Χρηματοοικονομικών, της οποίας παραμένει επικεφαλής. Ο Καθηγητής Γραμμένος υπήρξε επίσης υπεύθυνος για τον σχεδιασμό του παγκοσμίου φήμης μεταπτυχιακού προγράμματος στη Ναυτιλία, το Εμπόριο και τα Χρηματοοικονομικά (MSc. in Shipping, Trade and Finance), του οποίου την λειτουργία ξεκίνησε το 1984 και το οποίο διηύθυνε μέχρι το 1997, του μεταπτυχιακού προγράμματος στο Εμπόριο, τις Μεταφορές και τα Χρηματοοικονομικά (MSc. in Trade, Transport and Finance), το οποίο λειτουργεί από το 1997 και του μεταπτυχιακού προγράμματος στην Ενέργεια, το Εμπόριο και τα Χρηματοοικονομικά (MSc. in Energy, Trade and Finance) που εγκαινιάστηκε το 2002.
Ο ιστορικός Σπύρος Βρυώνης, είναι ομότιμος καθηγητής του ελληνικού πολιτισμού στο Κέντρο Ελληνικών Σπουδών «Αλέξανδρος Σ. Ωνάσης» στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Νέας Υόρκης και μέλος της Αμερικανικής Ακαδημίας Τεχνών και Επιστημών.
Με ένα άκρως ενδιαφέρον βιογραφικό, η προσωπική διαδρομή του ιστορικού – βυζαντινολόγου, μεσαιωνολόγου και τουρκολόγου Σπύρου Βρυώνη, ξεκινά από το Μέμφις του Τενεσή των ΗΠΑ όπου και γεννήθηκε το 1928 από οικογένεια Κεφαλληνιακής καταγωγής.
Μετά το τέλος των μεταπτυχιακών σπουδών του, στο Πανεπιστήμιο του
Χάρβαρντ, ξεκίνησε την πανεπιστημιακή σταδιοδρομία του διδάσκοντας στο
ίδιο πανεπιστήμιο.
Ο ιστορικός Σπύρος Βρυώνης, είναι ομότιμος καθηγητής του ελληνικού πολιτισμού στο Κέντρο Ελληνικών Σπουδών «Αλέξανδρος Σ. Ωνάσης» στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Νέας Υόρκης και μέλος της Αμερικανικής Ακαδημίας Τεχνών και Επιστημών.
