Dozens of Greek families who live in Wittenden, Germany, "froze" when they heard the tragic news last week about the deadly attack on the school their children attend.

In a modest, but very moving ceremony, which took place at the Western Australia Government House, the WA Governor, Kenneth Komninos Michael - who has roots in Kastelorizo - honoured another Greek-Australian, who has been the lead psalmist at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation in Perth. Dr. Michael, who - from a child orphaned at the age of eightt - managed to reach the Australian state's highest position, was born in WA of Greek parents in 1938. He is a major donor of the Greek Orthodox Community in Perth and its church, and has offered his services to it free of charge all these years.
