The 2nd Annual Holocaust Memorial Event is being organized by the "Argonaut's Association of Magnesia Prefecture" on Saturday, January 26th at 5p.m. at the Stathakeio Cultural Center in Astoria (22-51 29th Street, Astoria NY).
The event is being organized within the framework of World Holocaust Memorial Day, which was institutionalized by the United Nations and is honored throughout the world. The event will take place under the aegis of the Greek Ambassador in New York, Alexandros Mallias. The documentary "The Jews of Thessaloniki" directed by Dimitris Sofianopoulos and written by Vasilis Vasilikos will also be screened during the memorial event and will be followed by the customary cutting of the association's New Year's Vasilopita.
