Melbourne – The possibility that Greek language teaching may be eliminated from the Australian National Language Teaching Program – being drafted by ACARA – has mobilised Greek-Australians. Ethnic Greek politicians and teachers, community officials and ordinary people have been “recruited” in the common effort to retain Greek as a “priority language”, which it has enjoyed for the past 30 years, and to be incorporated in the program.

World SAE Secretary Dr. Olga Sarantopoulos has sent an open letter to Diaspora Greeks on the occasion of the current economic crisis.
